Photography is so much more than getting the perfect shot. It’s getting to know each and every senior, making their personalities shine, documenting an important milestone, and best of all, celebrating female beauty.
What inspired me to become a photographer back in 2011? I don’t have many photos from my childhood, so I made it my mission as a mom to document my family’s life in pictures.

Sometimes burnout isn’t the end. It’s the beginning of something better. This year at the PUSH conference, I had the opportunity to share my journey in a session titled Factory Reset: Taking Back Control of Your Business, Brand, and Joy.What started as a feeling of boredom quickly turned into a complete reimagining of my business. I realized I hadn’t fallen out of love with photography. I had simply outgrown the version of my business I was operating. What followed was one of the most powerful seasons of realignment I’ve ever walked through. And it all started with giving myself permission to reset.
Let’s be honest. So many photographers hit a point where things just stop feeling good. The clients we once dreamed of working with no longer light us up. The systems we’ve duct-taped together are falling apart. And worse, we start to believe maybe we’re the problem. My Factory Reset: Taking Back Control of Your Business, Brand, and Joy session was about rewriting that narrative. Burnout doesn’t mean your business is broken. It means it’s time to build a better version that actually works for you.

A factory reset doesn’t mean tossing everything out. For me, it meant peeling back the layers and rediscovering what I still loved about my business. I cleared off the walls in my studio, rewrote my messaging, redesigned my website, and even changed how I show up online. But I didn’t erase everything. I honored what still worked and rebuilt around that. This kind of intentional reset gave me clarity and joy again and helped me fall back in love with my business in a more sustainable way.
One of the biggest tools in my reset season was my CRM, 17hats. While I was redefining my brand, 17hats helped me streamline my back end. From client workflows to scheduling, email templates, and invoicing, I was finally able to let go of the chaos and get organized. The best part? It gave me the mental space to be creative again. Systems matter more than we think, and 17hats helped me take back control with more ease and confidence than ever before.
If something in your business feels off, you don’t have to burn it all down. Start small. Get honest. Make one decision today that moves you closer to alignment. Whether it’s cleaning up your brand voice, setting boundaries, or finally organizing your workflow with a CRM like 17hats, your reset doesn’t have to be loud. It just has to be real. You deserve a business that lights you up again. Let this be your reminder that you are allowed to change.
