Photography is so much more than getting the perfect shot. It’s getting to know each and every senior, making their personalities shine, documenting an important milestone, and best of all, celebrating female beauty.
What inspired me to become a photographer back in 2011? I don’t have many photos from my childhood, so I made it my mission as a mom to document my family’s life in pictures.
Hey friends, welcome back to the blog! Today we are going to be featuring Alivia’s senior pictures Alivia senior pictures we’re taking last summer. She is a 2020 senior from Rochester High School and will be graduating in the next few months.
Alivia’s original senior pictures were rescheduled due to rain which was a bummer but actually worked out in our favor because the reschedule date was just beautiful! It was hot but I never complained about it being hot. Her shoes started off different because she has natural curls and was wanting to rock those natural curls for her senior pictures so instead of having both hair and makeup in the studio prior to her shoot we only had professional makeup.
We shot at some of my favorite locations! One of my go-to spots is the hospital Trail and it has been for years. I just love that spot because it is full of beautiful green backdrops and also has a water option. We live in a small town so I have found that I have to be really creative with my locations to get the most variety out of locations for my senior clients. One of our other locations was downtown! I always laugh when I say downtown because downtown Rochester is not like downtown Chicago or even downtown South Bend for that matter but I make do with what I have. Last year they added flower decals to empty storefronts and I knew right away when I saw those that it was going to be a new location for me. We definitely used the flower decals and I am literally obsessed with Alivia’s pictures from that location; they were just the right amount of pop that we need. The flower decals went with Alivia’s perfect personality perfectly.
We of course ended up in a field at sunset because what is KJP without a field or flower pictures! I had to get real creative because one of the fields the weeds were so tall. Some years the same field is short and other years this field is really tall and this was one of those really tall years.
We had so much fun shooting Alivia senior pictures. We laughed so much my cheeks literally hurt by the end of the night. And did I mention it was hot I think I did but just in case it was really hot that day but you wouldn’t know it by the pictures because the professional airbrush makeup is heat resistant so it stayed flawless throughout her entire senior pictures.
