Photography is so much more than getting the perfect shot. It’s getting to know each and every senior, making their personalities shine, documenting an important milestone, and best of all, celebrating female beauty.
What inspired me to become a photographer back in 2011? I don’t have many photos from my childhood, so I made it my mission as a mom to document my family’s life in pictures.
2020 Senior Season came and went pretty fast last summer. My senior season in Indiana is pretty short. I start every senior season with photographing my senior team girls. In no particular order over the next few weeks I will be finally sharing their images on the blog. First up is Kenzi! Kenzi’s photoshoot started on The Jackson Estates! I have been using this little gem that my daughter and I found last summer. The light in the little spot can be so beautiful. A few days prior to her Senior pictures I saw this beautiful willow tree on my husband’s family property and thought that would also be the perfect backdrop! So we used it! You will see this spot featured in a few other girls this season because it instantly became a fast favorite. It became my most requested location of the 2020 season. For my girls that want a little urban feel we hit up one of my favorite spots downtown Rochester. I didn’t shoot downtown that much because we had 5 outfits to fit into her session so we needed to make sure we stayed on time at each location. The third location we will NEVER forget. They had just freshly cut the grass and the mosquitoes were so bad. Kenzi poor back after we left that location was covered in welts. I was so thankful that the rest of her outfits her back was covered because it would have been a nightmare to edit out those mosquito bites. The images we got were worth the mosquitoes! After I got what we needed we literally ran to the car! The last 2 locations were shot in different places. They both are some of my favorite places to shoot! The light at sunset is always beautiful! These 2 locations are handpicked for many different reasons but the #1 reason is because it allows my senior girls to take center stage and shine! Don’t believe me see for yourself in the images below.
