Facing Your Fears & Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Facing Your Fears & Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

The summer& fall has came and went. I had so many great shoots, My favorite shoot this summer was my Fun Flirty Fair Shoot. It was a theme shoot that I did just for myself. I have wanted to do a fair shoot for several years now but always let my fear stand in the way. I know most of you are thinking what is so scary about shooting a fair shoot? No, I’m not talking about the random clowns that you might see at the fair. My fear has always been the unknown. Being a control freak I always chickened out. Where would my locations be at the fair? What if it was so crowded we couldn’t shoot? How do I avoid people being in all the pictures? and probably my biggest fear having random people staring and looking. I hate that feeling and just writing that part made me sweat and get nervous all over again. Well now that the shoot is over I had all those situation come to life and took on each of those situations like a BOSS. When I decided to pull the trigger on the fair shoot I went in wanting to take some great pictures of the girls and a few great group pictures. I later decided after I picked the girls to have 1 expectation? Crazy Huh! I knew I had a great group of fun & out going girls I just wanted the GIRLS to have fun! That’s it. If they walked away with a few great pictures that would have been icing on the cake!

My biggest fear was faced at our first group shots, I had to have picked the busiest area. But I loved the food booth and was going to go for it. There was so many people walking by some would stop and look while others would just walk past not knowing we were even there. I told the girls to just be ready I would shoot between the people passing by. It was such a thrill that I wasn’t expecting at all. I knew at the first spot, I had this and was going to rock this fair shoot! I decided at that point to find less populated area’s if we could just so that I could have more time to focus on the girls. We walked around until I saw a spot that would work. Since my theme was fun flirty fair shoot every location had to have that aspect apart of it, that definitely helped having a theme! We ate cotton candy, played some fun games, and rode a few rides to get some unique pictures.

As the sun was starting to set I found a little gem that would allow for us to shoot in my favorite lighting setting. Backlit! There were people around but I didn’t care at that point if they didn’t like it that could leave! lol I actually asked a couple to move from where they were sitting at one point since they were right behind us. They were nice enough to move for us! I wish I would have asked sooner! There is always next time. I had found my voice and it felt good.

All and all The girls had a blast and got some great images! The girls went into this shoot not knowing each other by the end they were exchanging Instagram information to keep in touch.

This fun flirt fair shoot was the most out of my comfort zone I had been in a very long time and the results were so worth it. I wish I would I have done it sooner. I can’t wait to plan my next themed shoot! If you have had a fear holding you back from achieving now is the time. We are not getting any younger. If it’s a big fear perhaps give yourself a deadline with a achievable date. Set yourself up for success. You can do it!
