Take me back to Lake Maxinkuckee!
This past summer I had a senior client that really wanted her senior pictures at the beach. Our town doesn’t really have a lot of beach options so we had to travel! Culver, Indiana came to my mind right away that has the beautiful Lake Maxinkuckee.
I have been around Culver a lot over the years. It’s a town that is very dear to our family hearts. My husband and our youngest daughter attends Culver Community School. My husbands sisters all attended Culver Academies. We have spent a lot of time on the campus during that time for sporting events. We got married at the chapel on campus at Culver Academies 19 years ago! One of our favorite summer traditions has been going boating on Lake Maxinkuckee! You get to see Culver Academies and the beach area from a different perspective on the lake. It has easily become the highlight of our family’s summer!
Where has the time gone!
It’s hard to believe that I have been a senior photographer for over 10 years now. Photographing seniors at the beach are still to this day one of my favorite locations to photograph girls at because you never can fully plan it out. This Type A girl needs just a little of that in my life to keep me on my toes. You have to get creative with blocking people and objects out of the background. The girls usually want to get in the water but if it’s cold we don’t want visible goosebumps. Oh and let’s not forget about the wind! The wind hand down will keep you on your feet and dare I saw will humble the most experience photographers.
